Tungelsta School is located in the southern part of Haninge municipality. We have Stockholm city within a comfortable commuting distance, about 30 minutes by car or commuter train.

The schools in Haninge work purposefully and consciously to increase the goal achievement of our students. Tungelsta School is a F-9 school with approximately 580 students and over 70 staff members. The school is organized into work teams from grades F-9. Each work team is led by a team leader who meets with the school management every other week.

Our students are the adults of the future, and together with them, we aim for their future. We work purposefully with the students' knowledge development throughout their school years. We want to nurture our students to become knowledgeable and independent individuals who share the values present in society. Our students achieve good results. At the school, we work with a student-active approach, cooperative methods to strengthen students' participation, collaboration, and communication. We also work across subjects to create an understanding of how different subjects can create a whole.

Your mission

We are looking for someone who has a good ability to meet the needs of students and can create trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Your role as a special teacher involves increasing students' learning by planning and organizing special support in classrooms together with educators. You will follow up results with teachers and develop strategies and materials for students in need of special support. You will work individually or in smaller groups with students in need of special support in mathematics and Swedish. You will also support teachers in their work with students and in their work with pedagogical assessments. You will be responsible for student documentation such as assessments of the need for special support, action plans, as well as follow-up and evaluation of these, and lead the pedagogical work towards high goal achievement and high knowledge results. You will also be part of the school's student health team.

Qualifications

• Degree and certification as a special teacher.
• We prefer that you have previous experience in the role.
• Good knowledge of digital handling.
• Good ability to communicate in speech and writing.

Personal qualities

Regarding personal qualities, you need to have good collaboration skills and be empathetic, able to meet both staff and students and guardians in a good way.

As an educator, you need to be goal- and result-oriented, proactive, clear, and persistent.
